‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City’ Trailer: Kaya Scodelario Stars In The New Reboot Of The Popular Video Game/Film Franchise

No matter what you might think about the quality of Paul W.S. Anderson’sResident Evil” film franchise, the series was incredibly popular and spans six total films. And sticking with the horror trend, you had to know that the final film in that series, ‘The Final Chapter,’ wouldn’t actually be the last one, right?

Five short years after that ‘Final Chapter,’ “Resident Evil” is back with ‘Welcome to Raccoon City,’ sporting a new coat of paint and a new tone that sheds the campy, action-filled fun of the previous films. This time, “Resident Evil” is all about the horror and is sticking to its video game roots, bringing familiar characters back to the franchise in a film that sure does love a jumpscare, if the trailer is to be believed.

The new reboot stars Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Donal Logue, and Neal McDonough. ‘Welcome to Raccoon City’ comes from director Johannes Roberts, who is probably best known for his films “47 Meters Down” and “The Strangers: Prey At Night.” However, for the new “Resident Evil” film, Roberts debuts as a feature writer, wearing multiple hats for the first time.

“Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City” debuts in theaters on November 24. You can watch the trailer below.

Returning to the origins of the massively popular RESIDENT EVIL franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games to life for a whole new generation of fans. In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
