There has been an update on the upcoming Constantin Films‘ creature feature “Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon” (formerly known as “Titan”) as Lionsgate is now poised to release the pic later this year.
The pic that comes from director Mike P. Nelson (“Silent Night, Deadly Night,” “Wrong Turn”) and screenwriter Alan B. McElroy boasts a cast that includes horror world actors Logan Marshall-Green (“Prometheus,” “Upgrade”), Jessica Rothe (“Happy Death Day,” “Boy Kills World”), and Kiana Maderia (“Fear Street” trilogy).

A synopsis for the pic hailing from JoBlo:
When a team of young doctors embark on a local humanitarian mission through the Amazon rainforest, it soon becomes clear that not everyone, or everything, is happy to see them. Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the “Boiúna.” This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. The ensuing fight for survival blurs the roles of hunter, prey, and hero.
Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film (behind Zach Cregger‘s “Resident Evil” reboot) produces the Brazilian-set survival horror flick alongside JB Pictures‘ Jeremy Bolt (a longtime creative partner of Paul W.S. Anderson and is involved with his “House of the Dead” remake) with a team of exec producers that consists of Nelson, Simon Beltran Echeverri, Warren Goz, Samuel Hall, Michael Rothstein, and Juan Pablo Solano.
Marshall-Green has a supporting role in the CBS/Paramount+ “Yellowstone” spinoff series “Marshals,” that sees him working alongside Luke Grimes as the show focuses on a group of U.S. Marshals operating in rural communities.
When exactly “Boiúna: Legend of the Amazon” will arrive in 2026 is unknown, but we’ll likely learn more when studios share and promote their upcoming film slates at CinemaCon in April.
