Lestat is back and is craving global attention from a new sect of devotees. The next chapter in the “Interview With A Vampire” TV saga is on the horizon, as the third season is being retitled to “The Vampire Lestat” and sees the titular vampire (previously played by Tom Cruise and Stuart Townsend) back in the literal spotlight.
In the new third-season trailer, we see Sam Reid’s Lestat take a very risky public profile as a rock star in modern times, channeling Billy Idol. A key part of the lore is that vampires aren’t supposed to expose themselves to human society without serious consequences, and Lestat isn’t one to stick to rules.

Fans of the Anne Rice-penned source material (part of the greater Immortal Universe, combining multiple Rice properties) will remember this was a key plot point from the Warner Bros. film “Queen of the Damned,” which was the final acting performance by the late singer Aaliyah, who played Akasha (an ancient god-like vampire).
An official logline for Season 3 via AMC:
Follows Lestat as the world’s first immortal rock star on an electric multi-city tour, while he’s haunted by “muses” from his rebellious past.
Others in the cast of “The Vampire Lestat” include Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. The show hails from producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer, and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, and the late Christopher Rice.
