It’s official: “Yellowjackets” returns to Paramount+ for its fourth and final season on November 20, and there’s a new teaser to drum up hype for the last batch of episodes.
Granted, the 35-second clip doesn’t have much to it. The teaser opens on a static-filled TV as a news anchor’s voice comes through “We are live with breaking news: The Wiskayok Yellowjackets have been found.” The broadcast then switches to an MTV News update, with host Kurt Loder starting a debrief on search-and-rescue teams in Canada. Then the TV changes to say “THE FINAL RECKONING,” as that’s indeed what “Yellowjackets” Season 4 will be for the remaining girls/women of the series.
Here’s a logline for the final season, courtesy of Paramount+: In Yellowjackets Season 4, the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives. An old flame roars back into town with plans of her own. Not every homecoming is joyous, and this one is going to sting.
“Yellowjackets” S4 stars Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess, and Hilary Swank.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets follows a high school soccer team after their plane crashes in the remote northern wilderness. The series moves between the teenagers’ fight for survival and their descent into increasingly brutal factions in the 1990s, and the lives the survivors have attempted to build nearly 25 years later as adults. Seasons 1 and 2 were critically acclaimed, but Season 3 saw a dip in regard, forcing Paramount+, Lyle, and Nickerson to trim their original five-season plan for the series to four.
