Is this the worst casting decision ever?
Could wimp socially conscious rapper Common be in line to play B.A. Baracus in Joe Carnahan’s “The A-Team” remake? When asked, the actor sounded somewhat optimistic at the prospect of re-teaming with Carnahan. “Yeah that would be something cool, but, I mean, let’s see, I can’t speak on it yet until we know what’s going on but that would be an incredible character to play.” The two previously worked together on “Smokin ‘Aces” so this potential casting could make sense. If this is the case though, what do we now make of Chris Pine murmurs in passing about portraying H.M. Murdock? To quote the old “Transformers” slogan, more than meets the eye? [IESB]
Rumor has it that after the ditching of Brett Ratner, James McTeigue could be the man for job of the “Conan” reboot. McTeigue is the protege of the Wachowski Brothers and has helmed “V For Vendetta” and the upcoming “Ninja Assassin.” Early in his career, he paid his dues working as a director’s assistant on “The Matrix” trilogy as well as “Attack Of The Clones” under George Lucas and “Dark City” under Alex Proyas. Nice resume. Upgrade much? [CHUD]
Jason Patric is reportedly being lined up for the role of the main villain in the comic book adaptation “The Losers.” Sylvain White is directing the project whose cast currently stands with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba and Columbus Short. Chris Evans was also in talks to join. [AICN]
