Chris Pine has revealed to MTV that he has talked with director Joe Carnahan about a role in the upcoming silver screen remake of “The A-Team.”
“We’ve talked about it. I’d love to do it.” When asked about what role he could potentially play, Pine professed. “Murdock is my man. I love Murdock.” The character H.M. Murdock is a mentally unstable chopper pilot who resides in a mental institution.
Pine previously worked with Carnahan on the 2006 film “Smokin’ Aces” where he played one of the Neo-Nazi Tremor brothers. They were slated to work together again on Carnahan’s adaptation of “White Jazz” but Pine ditched his role in the last minute for “Star Trek.” After Pine left, ‘White Jazz’ lost George Clooney as well and the project never recovered – Carnahan hasn’t worked since. If he believed in “an eye for an eye,” Carnahan would probably wait until the last minute to tell Pine he didn’t get the part. But Pine has grown to become such a big name now, it would probably be beneficial for Carnahan to have him on board.
With or without Pine, don’t expect ‘A-Team’ to be hitting screens any time soon. Pine further added that Carnahan, and presumably his brother/screenwriting partner Matthew Michael Carnahan, are still working on the script: “I don’t think the script is quite done yet.”
