New Summer Blockbuster Photos: ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Guardians of The Galaxy,’ ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ & More

Godzilla

Summer is here and the time is right for dancing in the streets…or going to see big, sometimes senseless blockbusters. In case you missed our summer preview—Our 40 Most Anticipated Films—the list is right here. We’ve mixed indie and tentpoles together because, well, we have omnivorous tastes. But let’s face it, the summer blockbuster does tend to take over and overwhelm the movie narrative during the months of May to August.

Depending on your taste, it’s either the best season ever, the worst season ever, or one you have to tolerate until adult films return during the fall film festival and awards season in September. For us, it’s admittedly a bit mixed. If summer 2013 was any indication, we’re in for another long slog of loud, relentless tentpoles. But hey, anything can happen and even things like Warner Bros. Godzilla” look surprisingly pretty great. As does Matt Reeves Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes.”

So we have cautious hope that summer 2014 isn’t full of unsatisfying pictures like “The Wolverine,” “Man of Steel.” With that said, everyone’s doing a summer preview these days and both the L.A. Times and USA Today have revealed a bunch of new photos. So we’ve got new looks of “Godzilla,” the Wachowski siblings’ “Jupiter Ascending,” “Guardians Of the Galaxy,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and “The Expendables 3.” Check them out below and let us know which one you’re dying to see the most (and/or if you have indie alternatives instead).
