The Flaming Lips, “Space Bible With Volume Lumps”
What canned cliche can we write here about Christmas coming early, but actually it’s late (!)because the Flaming Lips’ “Christmas On Mars” film is the Chinese Democracy of rock movies? Ho, ho, ho, blargh.The drugged-out and loopy film is apparently bad (like you couldn’t have guessed), but sometimes mildly entertaining if you’re on copious drugs. Whatever. Pfork has a bizarro instrumental track from the soundtrack album that will be included on the DVD/CD that now comes out 11/11 according to the Lips’ site (originally it was this month). Note: Though Elijah Wood and Modest Mouse’s Issac Brock shot scenes for the Flaming Lips movie odyssey (we saw the latter with our own two eyes with early footage), both these two indie fellows are not in the film! News at 11.
