‘A Minecraft Movie’ Final Trailer: Jack Black & Jason Momoa Build A Great New Adventure

Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity is key to survival. Starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, “A Minecraft Movie.” comes from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures. Directed by Jared Hess, known for “Napoleon Dynamite,” it’s the first-ever live-action adaptation of Minecraft, the best-selling video game ever.

The movie also features Emma Myers (from “Wednesday”), Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks (from “The Color Purple”), Sebastian Hansen (from “Just Mercy” and “Lisey’s Story”), and Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”).

Oscar nominee Hess (also known for “Ninety-Five Senses” and “Nacho Libre”) directed the film from a screenplay by Chris Bowman & Hubbel Palmer, Neil Widener & Gavin James, and Chris Galletta. The story is by Allison Schroeder and, Chris Bowman & Hubbel Palmer is based on the Minecraft video game.

Producers include Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Ólafsson, and Vu Bui. The executive producers are Todd Hallowell, Jay Ashenfelter, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, and Jon Spaihts.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Four misfits—Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks)—are dealing with everyday problems when they suddenly get pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld. This bizarre, cubic wonderland thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll need to master this world and protect it from evil creatures like Piglins and Zombies. They’ll embark on a magical quest with an unexpected expert crafter, Steve (Black). Their adventure will challenge them to be bold and reconnect with their unique creative skills, which are essential for thriving in the real world.

The notable creative team includes a score by Mark Mothersbaugh (known for “Thor: Ragnarok” and the “LEGO®” movies) and Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon (known for “The Jungle Book” and “The Batman”) among many others
