'A Real Pain' Teaser: Jesse Eisenberg & Kieran Culkin Star In Road Trip Dramedy Coming This Fall

Whether you enjoyed it or not, there’s no denying Jesse Eisenberg’s directorial debut, “When You Finish Saving the World,” is an interesting film and proof that the actor is a legit filmmaker. Now, we have his second film, “A Real Pain,” and people have high expectations.

As seen in the trailer for the film, “A Real Pain” is a buddy comedy about two cousins who go on a road trip through Poland as a way to honor their grandmother. But as you might expect, especially with these types of films, there’s a lot more to it than just a road trip buddy comedy, as the duo start to reckon with old tensions that resurface over the course of the trip. 

The film stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kieran Culkin, Will Sharpe, Jennifer Grey, Kurt Egyiawan, Liza Sadovy, and Daniel Oreskes. “A Real Pain” is written and directed by Eisenberg. The actor-turned-filmmaker previous helmed the drama, “When You Finish Saving the World.” 

We saw the film as part of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and in our review, we said, “While Eisenberg is excellent on screen, especially during a dinner scene when he unloads his concerns over David to his fellow tourists, it’s Culkin who, rightfully, steals the film.”

“A Real Pain” debuts in theaters on October 18. You can watch the trailer below.
