So what do Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett & co. have in store for audiences next? How about a creature feature that’s a twisted take on the classic “Cat And The Canary” premise?

That’s the set-up for “Abigail,” a haunted house and vampire flick all in one. Read on for the film’s official synopsis, courtesy of Universal:
After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.
“Abigail” stars ex-“Scream” queen Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, and Kevin Durand. The late Angus Cloud also stars, while Alisha Weir plays Abigail.
Bettinelli-Olpin & Gillett direct “Abigail” from a script by Stephen Shields and Guy Busic. William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt produce the film through Project X Entertainment, Tripp Vinson, and Radio Silence’s Chad Vilella. Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher serve as executive producers.
