After their acclaimed roles opposite each other in “The Theory of Everything,” actors Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne were destined to star with each other in the future. Their chemistry is undeniable in that film, which makes their roles in “The Aeronauts” so damn exciting.
And in honor of “The Aeronauts” arriving on Amazon Prime Video this week, we’re thrilled to give our readers an exclusive look at a clip from the film, featuring none other than Jones and Redmayne proving why they’re so good together. “The Aeronauts,” tells the story of a hot air balloon pilot (Jones) looking for respect from her community as she ends up teaming with a meteorologist (Redmayne) who has the crazy idea that flying higher than anyone in history will help him discover methods for predicting the weather.

In the clip, we are given a sneak peek at the first meeting between the future adventurers. And it’s clear that the chemistry from “The Theory of Everything” is still there in their latest collaboration.
“The Aeronauts” is directed by Tom Harper, based on a script by Jack Thorne. Harper is probably best known for his previous film, the underseen gem “Wild Rose.” He also worked on TV series such as “War & Peace,” “The Misfits,” and “Peaky Blinders.”
“The Aeronauts” debuts on Amazon Prime Video on December 20.

In 1862, daredevil balloon pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) teams up with pioneering meteorologist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) to advance human knowledge of the weather and fly higher than anyone in history. While breaking records and advancing scientific discovery, their voyage to the very edge of existence helps the unlikely pair find their place in the world they have left far below them. But they face physical and emotional challenges in the thin air, as the ascent becomes a fight for survival.
