Anna Kendrick To Go On Duty With Cop Drama 'End Of Watch'

Natalie Martinez Also Joins The Cast

David Ayer has found a very comfortable and kind of boring niche: cop dramas. Having penned “Training Day,” “Dark Blue” and “S.W.A.T.” as well as directed “Harsh Times” and “Street Kings” his oeuvre is somewhat…predictable. So while we’re kind of excited his next boys in blue movie “End Of Watch” stars solid dudes like Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, we’re also wary. But it’s continuing to attract strong talent.

Variety reports that Anna Kendrick (“Up In The Air,” “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World“) and Natalie Martinez (“Detroit 1-8-7“) are negotiating to join the film. Sounds pretty good, but unfortunately, they will be relegated to the love interest roles of the respective leads. Yawn. Specific plot details are still being kept close to the chest, but the story will revolve around two LAPD officers as “they confront marriage, love, fatherhood and the harsh realities of the Los Angeles streets.” Yeah, we probably could have guessed that.

Production will get underway later this summer, but if you need a Kendrick fix sooner, she’s in the upcoming dramedy “50/50” and as well as less excitingly, “Twilight: Breaking Dawn.”
