Maybe with an Oscar on her shelf, Anne Hathaway feels she can let her hair down and maybe try a few left field projects. Earlier this year she signed up for the "Godzilla" meets "Lost In Translation" movie "Colossal" (which ran into some legal trouble), and now she’s going from monsters to aliens.
THR reveals that Hathaway will co-produce and star in "The Shower." Described as being a mix of "This Is The End," "Attack The Block," and "Bridesmaids," the Black List approved script by Jac Schaeffer kicks off at a baby shower where the attendees suddenly find themselves in the middle of a different type of shower: meteors that release a vapor turning men into blood-hungry aliens. So basically an alien invasion, but with women on the front lines. Sounds like it could be a fun one.
The plan is to package the movie with directors and actors before finding financing and with Hathaway already on board, some big name talent could circle. It’s an interesting gear shift for the actress, and one worth keeping an eye on.
