Now that Disney+ is in full swing and we don’t have new episodes of “The Mandalorian,” everyone is craving the slightest bit of information about the big shows Disney hinted at all the way back last year. While we still have a while to go before the premiere date, nothing can stop Anthony Mackie from teasing “The Falcon & The Winter Soldier” and how different it will feel from the rest of the Marvel movies.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for their newsletter, Mackie teased fans about the first MCU TV spin-off to drop on Disney+, which is set to follow the new Captain America after – spoilers if you somehow still have not seen “Avengers: Endgame” – Steve Rogers retired and passed his shield down to Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon. According to Mackie, the shows will be very different than the movies going forward: “They’re going to feel different in and of themselves, because they’re shot in a completely different way than the movies” Mackie told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think people are going to be surprised by how in-depth and evolved the characters become by having six to eight hours to them, instead of just two hours.” He added that we’ll see a different side of the character “With this, you really get to see who the characters are in their lives between the movies.” Mackie said.

While we don’t know a lot about what happens in “The Falcon & The Winter Soldier,” we do know that the show will see the return of Daniel Brühl’s Helmut Zemo. In previous interviews, Mackie has talked about the gravity of the role and whether the show would explore the meaning of Captain America now being a black man, calling it “monumental”
“The Falcon & The Winter Soldier” will premiere this August on Disney+
