One more minor bit of casting news for Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained" as it gears up to start rolling very, very soon. AdelaideNow reveals that self-described International Jazz Diva, Aussie Catherine Lambert is coming aboard the film, having been "handpicked" by the director.
"I'm not sure about the corsets, but I'm really looking forward to this experience," she told the paper, while also revealing how she landed in Tarantino's orbit. "I met and sang karaoke with Quentin Tarantino when I went to LA in 2004 for the DVD launch of 'Lost In Translation.' "
Anything seem familiar yet? Fans of Sofia Coppola's film might remember that Lambert featured as the lounge singer in the hotel, crooning her way throught a handful of songs. No word yet on her role here, but it's probably a safe assumption she'll take on a similar part as some kind of entertainer. So yeah, probably a small part, but no doubt anybody would jump at the chance to spend time on a set that will include folks like Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Sacha Baron Cohen and many (many) more.
Filming kicks off soon, with the movie set for a Christmas Day release in 2012.
