'Baghdad Central' Trailer: An Iraqi Ex-Policeman Loses Everything & Tries To Reclaim His Identity

As we said in our rundown: “Set in the aftermath of the U.S. invasion of Iraq after Saddam Hussein has fallen, in the midst of chaos, an Iraqi ex-policeman who has lost everything, makes a bid to reclaim his identity while keeping himself and his ailing daughter alive.”

This conceit is sort of hard to make out in the choppily edited trailer (for the series’ debut on Britain’s Channel 4), but you can at least get a handle on the series’ great cast (including Corey Stoll from “House of Cards” and Waleed Zuaiter from Netflix’s “The Spy” and “Altered Carbon”) and the moody atmosphere, made even more tense by recent events in the Middle East.

“Baghdad Central” is a six-part crime thriller for Channel 4, written by BAFTA-nominated writer Stephen Butchard (“The Last Kingdom,” “House of Saddam”) based on the novel by Elliott Colla (“House of Saddam”). It doesn’t have a release date yet, but it should be airing in Britain on Channel 4 before debuting on Hulu stateside.
