Is this a double dip or a triple dip? Maybe somewhere in between? You already own all the films in Christopher Nolan‘s “The Dark Knight” trilogy. Or maybe you waited and sprung for the “The Dark Knight” Trilogy Limited Edition (lol) Giftset last year. Well, Warner Bros. wants to pry a few more Bat-dollars out of superfans, so they are taking one more crack at the apple…
The studio has announced that on September 24th, you’ll be able to own “The Dark Knight” Trilogy: Ulimate Collector’s Edition for the low, low retail price of $99.97. (Of course, given how fast Blurays prices drop these days, it will probably be $25 within a month). So what do you get for all that cheddar? Well, the real meat and potatoes comes courtesy of two featurettes, staring with “The Fire Rises: The Creation and Impact of The Dark Knight Trilogy” which gathers up interviews with Guillermo Del Toro, Damon Lindelof, Michael Mann, Richard Roeper and Zack Snyder presumably to talk about how awesome the movies are. And then there’s “Christopher Nolan & Richard Donner: A Conversation” which pairs up the Batman and Superman helmers to talk shop.
For those of you with display cases to fill, the boxset will also include Hot Wheels cars Batmobile and Batpod; Mondo art cards of Scarecrow, Joker, Bane, Harvey Dent, and Ra’s al Ghul and for your bookshelf, a 48-page hardcover book with pictures from across the entire series.
