After the success of her last Netflix film, “Mudbound,” filmmaker Dee Rees is putting together quite the cast for her follow-up film “The Last Thing He Wanted.” Partnering with Netflix once again, the director has enlisted Ben Affleck, Rosie Perez, Toby Jones, and Edi Gathegi to join the cast for her film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“The Last Thing He Wanted” tells the story of a young journalist who quits her job at the Washington Post to care for her ailing father. However, she finds herself in way over her head as she inherits his job as an arms-dealer in Central America. Previously, it was reported that Anne Hathaway had signed on to star in the film, presumably as the journalist.

Affleck and Co. are joining the production that is already underway in Puerto Rico. No word on what their roles will be, but so far, the cast for Rees’ film looks mighty promising. The filmmaker co-wrote the script with Marco Villalobos.

This isn’t Ben Affleck’s first foray into streaming films, specifically with Netflix. The actor is scheduled to appear opposite Charlie Hunnam and Oscar Isaac in the film “Triple Frontier,” which should be released sometime in 2019. That film comes from director J.C. Chandor.
