'Black Mirror' Season 4 Trailer: David Slade's 'Metalhead'

The episode by episode teaser march toward the new season of “Black Mirror” continues, with what might be the most visually audacious offering yet: “Metalhead.”

David Slade (“Hannibal,” “American Gods“) gets behind the camera for this black and white instalment, starring Maxine Peake, Jake Davies, and Clint Dyer that keeps the plot under wraps (the only thing we have to go on is the super brief logline: “Beware of dogs”), but seems to promise some bloody, apocalyptic horror. It certainly looks like it’ll stand apart both in style and tone from your standard “Black Mirror” entry, and indeed, series creator Charlie Brooker promises something that will make your hair stand up on end.

“ ’Metalhead’ is very unlike any episode we’ve done before,” he told EW. “It’s a deliberately pared down and brutal tale. If you imagine every season like an album, this is like a 2-minute punk single. Each is pretty different from every episode we’ve done before and it’s difficult to explain why until you’ve seen them… Weirdly, the inspiration for this episode was I was trying to set myself a challenge of how pared back can I get. What’s a literally black-and-white story we can tell?”

Sounds awesome. The new season of “Black Mirror” arrives….soon.
