After dropping its first trailer last fall, things have gone quiet on the “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” front, but it looks like the campaign is ramping up again. The sequel is just a few months away, and USA Today has dropped a handful of new images for the movie that hopes to repeat the success of its first outing….by not doing things the same way twice.
“The first movie was successful because we took chances and gave people the unexpected. This movie can only really be what it is, Guardians can only be what they are, if they’re taking a risk,” writer/director James Gunn said. “It means giving them a much different movie.”
Of course, it’s not going to be too different, with the characters you all know and love back in the mix, plus a few new faces in there too. But barring any kind of disaster, it’s likely to be another big home run for Marvel.
“Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” opens on May 5th.
