Is there anything better than a film about normal folks falling into a life of crime and not knowing how to navigate this new world? Depending on the filmmakers attached, it’s a story that is filled with intrigue, a slight bit of humor, and plenty of cringe. It’s just a lot of fun. And that’s the vibe present in the new trailer for “Blow the Man Down.”
In “Blow the Man Down,” two young women find themselves out of their depth when they are thrust into the underbelly of a small New England fishing village after they kill a man and attempt to cover up the crime. As you might expect, the women aren’t so skilled as murderers and are constantly trying to hide their mishap while the police investigate the crime.
The film stars Morgan Saylor, Sophie Lowe, June Squibb, and Margo Martindale. Danielle Krudy and Bridget Savage Cole are the writer-directors of “Blow the Man Down.” The film marks the duo’s feature directorial debut.
We were able to catch the film at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival, and in our review, we said, “Where the film may lose some of its momentum in its plot divergences and unsteady character building it more than makes off for with its technical excellence and work by the directors that promise a delightful, singularly strange and wicked career ahead.”
“Blow the Man Down” arrives on Prime Video on March 20.
