Though “Blue Is The Warmest Color” will still emerge as the most talked about lesbian drama of the year by a wide margin, it isn’t the only same-sex relationship movie taking it off and getting it on. Earlier in the year, it was a different movie earning all the attention, with Stacie Passon‘s “Concussion” making waves at Sundance before going on to win the Teddy Jury Award at the Berlin Film Festival. And now, it’s headed to theaters and this brand new trailer makes no mistake about what’s in store.
Starring Robin Weigert, the story follows Abby, an upper-class married lesbian and mom, who undergoes a change after suffering a blow a head. Purchasing a pied-à-terre in Manhattan, and sensing a sexual awakening, Abby starts a double life as a high-end escort in a film the explores both relationships and mid-life crises. The premise may be a bit out there, but notices for the film have been very good all year, and it’s one we’re curious to check out for ourselves. And we’ll have our chance soon enough.
“Concussion” opens on demand and in limited release on October 4th. Watch below. [Vulture]
