Got a Tip?

Brie Larson Says She Auditioned For ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’

Earlier this year, Brie Larson revealed she had auditioned for a “Star Wars” movie, but didn’t reveal which. Now, in an appearance on Gary Whitta‘s Twitch live stream Animal Talking show she revealed she auditioned for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which Whitta co-wrote.

“Oh yeah! You wrote ‘Rogue One,’ right?” Larson asked Whitta at one point when discussing Disney and the way they hold secrets– she also revealed she knew she was “Captain Marvel” for a year before it was announced. “I auditioned for that, I didn’t get it.”

Brie Larson has hardly hidden how big a fan she is of “Star Wars“, she has often posted photos of herself in “Star Wars” cosplay in the past. With her close ties to Disney and considering all the crossover in creative talent between their Marvel and Star Wars properties, it seems as though the actress is poised for a Star Wars appearance at some point.

She also revealed she’s dying to get into a “Metroid” movie should one get made.

“I would love that so much,” Larson said. “I was Samus for Halloween two years ago. It was literally a $20 costume I bought off of Amazon, it was like nothing. I was so excited about it, and I posted a picture of it on Instagram of me and the costume, and it turned into this thing of people being like “Woah!” She was always my character that I played in Super Smash Bros. and I just loved her. So that whole thing started and I’ve definitely not put a squash to that story. I definitely want to make that movie, I definitely want to participate in that. So, Nintendo, once again, I would love to do it!”

Larson herself has also moved into creating YouTube videos during the pandemic, though she does note that she actually conceived of her YouTube channel before the pandemic lockdown. Though YouTube is perhaps not the most relaxing form of recreation, Larson says it was simply created to pass the time, and she hopes to continue it when the pandemic is “over.”
