Pedro Almodovar has long been known as a filmmaker who creates great roles for women, and his next film should be particularly exciting, as it offers what sounds like an epic story centered around one female protagonist. And with its Cannes Film Festival bow on the horizon, a couple of new peeks at the movie have landed.
Emma Suárez and Adriana Ugarte lead the drama which follows the life of Julieta, from 1985 to 2015, and everything both good and bad that comes her way. Inma Cuesta, Rossy de Palma, Nathalie Poza, Pilar Castro, Darío Grandinetti, Daniel Grao, Joaquín Notario, and Blanca Parés round out the ensemble for this one which seems to have a scope even grander than Richard Linklater‘s “Boyhood.”
Sony Pictures Classics have the U.S. rights for this one, but no release date has been set yet. One clip above, another below.
