Do you love lamp? Need more jazz flute in your life?
Every couple months, perhaps twice a year for the last several years, someone brings up the long-discussed, but gone-nowhere possibility of an “Anchorman 2” film (our rough count is about three–four times in the last two years).
So it’s about that time again to talk about a sequel to Adam McKay’s “Anchorman” that famously starred Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Steve Carrell (who doesn’t love this absurdly awesome comedy?). It is finally be on the verge of becoming a reality?
On Australian radio, Will Ferrell revealed that a meeting will take place next week with cast members to discuss the potential project. He also joked that part of the meeting was to suss out whether or not Rudd and Carell are prepared to take pay cuts, because he sure as hell isn’t.
If Ferrell mentioned it on the radio sure, it’s a possibility, but don’t put down money on it just yet, this one’s been discussed for about four-five years now. Moviehole says “a trade announcement is only around the corner,” but these guys aren’t always the most legit source and that’s probably just speculation. Look at this with guarded optimism only.
