While the traditional route for casting is to scan the trades and tracking boards and wait for something to pop, sometimes some well placed photographs can reveal more than the filmmakers had wanted. Welcome to 2014.
So with that in mind, recent snaps of the New York City shoot for Judd Apatow‘s "Trainwreck" have revealed the participation of both Daniel Radcliffe and Marisa Tomei. And while Apatow hit Twitter to "deny" the former’s involvement, pictures don’t lie, so expect Radcliffe in some capacity in the comedy led by Amy Schumer and featuring Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Ezra Miller, John Cena, Barkhad Abdi, Mike Birbiglia and Jon Glaser.
In other news — from the trades — Matthew Modine and Claire Forlani will star in the mystery "The Three Lucias." The story will follow "a man who spends an awkward Easter weekend with three women, including a daughter he did not know he had, a social recluse and a movie star." Sandrine Scribberas directs with production starting in November in Malta. [Variety]
"The Kings Of Summer" star Nick Robinson and Alex Roe have joined Chloe Moretz in "The 5th Wave." The flick, which is based on a YA novel, will center on "16-year-old Cassie, who survives four waves of deadly attacks against the Earth’s population. On the run to save her younger brother, she meets a mysterious young man who may become her final hope." [The Wrap]
