Chadwick Boseman And The Russo Brothers To Team Up For New Thriller '17 Bridges'

Chadwick Boseman is finally ready for his post-“Black Panther” career. After blowing up as the titular character in the film with the biggest domestic box office in 2018, Boseman has been on a bit of a victory lap lately, doing his “Wakanda Forever!” gestures to adoring fans. Well, we now know the next film he’ll tackle, and he’s bringing along some of his Marvel Studios buddies for the ride.

Deadline is reporting that Boseman has signed on to star and produce in the action film, “17 Bridges.” The film follows a disgraced NYPD detective who is seeking redemption while tracking a cop killer. How the multitude of bridges fits into the plot is anyone’s guess. Coming along with Boseman are none other than Joe and Anthony Russo, who have worked with the actor in “Captain America: Civil War” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” to help produce the film.

“17 Bridges” will be directed by Brian Kirk, who is probably best known for his work on “Game of Thrones” and “Luther.” The film’s script is written by newcomer Adam Mervis.

In addition to the recently released ‘Infinity War’ and “17 Bridges,” Boseman will be seen in “Avengers 4” (You know he will!) and the upcoming, but unofficially announced, “Black Panther 2.” He’s also got another thriller lined up titled “Expatriate,” with “Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins attached to helm.

There’s no word on a release date, quite yet, but production on “17 Bridges” is expected to begin in September. That means, we can probably expect the film to hit theaters sometime in 2019.
