Got a Tip?

Channing Tatum Reveals A ‘Magic Mike’ Sequel Is In The Works

nullSo, are we about to see the world's first male stripper franchise? If things go Channing Tatum's way — and these days, it seems everything is (including being a clue on "Jeopardy!" recently) — "Magic Mike" will be taking another swing around the cinematic stripper pole.

Chatting with Glamour magazine, when asked about a sequel, Tatum was nothing if not emphatic: "Yes, yes and yes! We're working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger." And it's not too surprising that he wants to find a way to get dudes to grind their junk on women on the big screen all over again. He's already working with Steven Soderbergh and producing partner/screenwriter Reid Carolin on a Broadway show to hit the stage next summer, and a sequel is a no brainer as well, especially considering the film has hauled in $77 million thus far, and seems poised to reach that magical $100 million threshold. Not bad for an R-rated movie about dudes taking off their clothes.

It'll be interesting to find out what the sequel's concept will be. **Spoilers** His character in "Magic Mike" leaves the business at the end of the film, while the rest of the gang move on to Miami. **End spoilers** Could we see a story following up with Alex Pettyfer's bad boy? Or maybe with Matthew McConaughey's kind of sleazy, sort of sad Dallas? Or maybe just a fresh story, with a new batch of hot young bods to wow the ladies instead? We reckon the possibilities are endless.

For now, Channing Tatum plows ahead with his busy schedule. After having three hit movies in the first half of 2012, he's headed back to the film set, with shooting on Roland Emmerich's "White House Down" kicking off next month.
