Cineverse has released the trailer for “Chapter 51,” a new thriller from photographer-turned-filmmaker Tyler Shields that brings murder, movie-set paranoia, and Hollywood self-mythology into one nasty little industry nightmare.
Written and directed by Shields, the film takes place around the making of a massive $500 million production where three actresses are murdered by an unidentified figure known as the Hollywood Killer. Even as fear spreads through the set, the production keeps moving under a new director, turning a violent crime scene into another piece of the machinery. Years later, former FBI agent Thomas Scott reopens the case and starts digging into a story built around ambition, obsession, and the ugly cost of keeping the cameras rolling.

Colman Domingo stars as Scott, continuing an especially busy run after “Sing Sing,” “Rustin,” “Euphoria,” and the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic “Michael.” The cast also includes Abigail Breslin, Emily Alyn Lind, Charlotte Lawrence, and Connor Paolo.
“Chapter 51” also arrives with a bit of technical bravado behind it. Shields reportedly shot the film across a wide range of formats, including 8mm, 16mm, 35mm, VistaVision, Ultra Panavision, IMAX, and a newly developed anamorphic IMAX lens system created for the project. That fits the premise: a movie about Hollywood fantasy, violence, and obsession built from the tools and textures of film history itself.
The film is produced by Todd Mandel, Giovanni Ribisi, John Ryan Jr., and Tyler Shields, with Steve Carson, Jake Cloobeck, Kenan Thompson, and Tyler Transki serving as executive producers.
“Chapter 51” opens in limited theaters and arrives on Digital and On-Demand on June 23, 2026. Watch the trailer below.
