Clips From Danny Elfman's 'Alice In Wonderland' Original Score Now Streaming, In Stores Next Week

While Disney has been busying pimping the “Almost Alice” companion soundtrack to their forthcoming CGI blitzkrieg “Alice In Wonderland,” Danny Elfman has practically been forgotten as the guy who is actually scoring the music people will actually listen to in the film, not when they get home.

It came to our attention today that over at the Walt Disney Records site, you can now stream clips of all 24 (!) songs for the forthcoming official soundtrack release for Elfman’s score. Judging by the clips below, the longtime collaborator of Tim Burton hasn’t reinvented the wheel here and frankly, it’s not the kind of film where that’s necessary. This tentpole simply requires its music to get the plot and characters moving from place to place without getting in the way, and Elfman’s score does that, even if the snippets aren’t particularly memorable.

Both the official soundtrack and “Almost Alice” his stores on March 2nd, with the film following three days later on March 5th.
