It seems that what Nicole Kidman wants, Nicole Kidman gets. Last fall, the actress expressed a desire to reteam with Colin Firth, with whom she recently wrapped the WWII tale "The Railway Man," on the upcoming thriller "Before I Go To Sleep." And that's exactly what's going to happen.
The actor is now confirmed to join the movie, which potentially marks another powerhouse pairing in the offing. Based on S.J. Watson’s bestselling book, and set to be directed by Rowan Joffe ("Brighton Rock"), the thriller follows a woman (Kidman) who wakes up each morning with no memory, with her husband (Firth) telling her that she's suffered a trauma and needs to stay at home. One day, she sneaks off to a doctor (to be played by Mark Strong) who gives her a recorder and tells her to play back her thoughts to help piece things together. What she discovers is that her husband…may not be her husband at all.
So wait, slow down…Firth is the potential bad guy, and Strong the good guy? Has the world gone topsy-turvy? We kid, because this actually sounds like a pretty nifty genre flick. So onward and upwards. Filming begins later this month. [Variety]
