'Come Play' Trailer: Gillian Jacobs Must Save Her Son From An Evil Presence That Uses An iPad

The new trailer for “Come Play” initially hides its horrifying plot by showcasing how great the use of iPads and smartphones can be for children on the spectrum, especially in the case of young Oliver, who is mute and only communicates through whatever handheld device he has on him. But this is a horror movie after all, and you know shit is about to get bad.

And shit, most definitely, gets bad.

Eventually, Oliver finds that he’s not the only one in his house that likes to use the iPad, as he notices strange movement and otherworldly spirits/demons/monsters/whatever that only can be seen through the camera app on his smartphone or tablet. Add to it that he is effectively mute and can’t fully express the terror he is experiencing and “Come Play” looks to be a fairly unique spin on the haunted house formula.

The cast includes Azhy Robertson, Gillian Jacobs, and John Gallagher Jr. “Come Play” comes from writer-director Jacob Chase, who previously helmed the feature, “The Four-Faced Liar” back in 2010.
