Coming In 2014: New Pics From 'Fast & Furious 7,' 'Need For Speed,' Maps To The Stars' & 'That Awkward Moment'

Fast & Furious 7

We know, looking ahead to 2014 when there is still so much to come in 2013 is a bit silly, but a handful of new images are here and we figured we might as well show ’em off all in one place. So without further delay …

Nobody loves his fans more than Vin Diesel, and with filming underway on “Fast & Furious 7,” the actor has given his followers a first look at the movie, which doesn’t seem to be deviating too strongly from franchise consistency of having Dominic Toretto do a lot of standing when he’s not driving. Paul Walker is appropriately in the background, and probably wondering if Lucas Black is going to take his job. The James Wan-directed flick drops on July 11, 2014.

Meanwhile, David Cronenberg is hard at work on “Maps To The Stars” his next outing with new bud Robert Pattinson. And a fan site for the film has uncovered the first image from the film, featuring Sarah Gadon and Julianne Moore. The story centers on the twisted Weiss family in this takedown of celebrity culture. John Cusack, Mia Wasikowska and Olivia Williams co-star and while there’s not release date just yet, we’d reckon a Cannes Film Festival premiere probably isn’t out of the question.

Zac Efron is going to get his rom-com hat on with a pretty decent cast, including Miles Teller (“The Spectacular Now,” “Rabbit Hole“), Michael B. Jordan (“Fruitvale Station,” “Chronicle“) and Imogen Poots for “That Awkward Moment,” formerly known as “Are We Officially Dating?” And you should be able to guess what it’s about, but if not here’s the official synopsis:

Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan star in the R-rated comedy, THAT AWKWARD MOMENT, about three best friends who find themselves where we’ve all been– at that confusing “moment” in every dating relationship when you have to decide “So…where is this going?”

It opens on January 31st and we’d wager a trailer is right around the corner.

Speaking of Imogen Poots, she’s also in “Need For Speed,” but sadly doesn’t feature in these first pics from the video game adaptation starring Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper. Nor do any cars, for that matter. Kinda weird considering that’s the whole point of the movie, right? Anyway, that one drives into theaters on March 14, 2014.
