December is a time to celebrate the holidays, right? Well, then what better way to celebrate than buying yourself some incredible Criterion disks? Criterion clearly knows December is a gift-giving time, as the company has a stellar lineup of disks coming our way at the end of the year.

Leading the way is “Paris, Texas,” Wim Wenders’ incredible 1984 film starring Harry Dean Stanton. This new release of “Paris, Texas” sports a new 4K restoration of the film overseen by Wenders. In addition, there’s a commentary track by Wenders, interviews with various folks, and deleted scenes. This is poised to be the definitive release of the film.
Next up, we have “8 ½,” from director Federico Fellini. This is yet another iconic film and this version of the film comes with a brand-new 4K restoration. Criterion’s release comes with multiple documentaries, interviews, an audio commentary, and even an introduction from none other than Terry Gilliam.
Then there’s a new Criterion release of the Coen Brothers’ “No Country for Old Men.” The film comes with a new 4K master overseen by cinematographer Roger Deakins. This release is absolutely packed with special features, including a new interview with the Coens, multiple documentaries, and a new conversation with the aforementioned Deakins.
Lastly, we have Sammo Hung’s 1987 film and classic Hong Kong action film, “Eastern Condors.” This release features not one, but two 2K restorations of the film. The second restoration is the English dub of the movie, called the Export Cut. The release also comes with a new interview with Hung, as well as a live stage adaptation of the film.
