There’s good news and bad news regarding the upcoming “Bond 25.” (Shocking, I know.) The bad news is that the ankle injury that Daniel Craig suffered while on the set of the spy film will require surgery. The good news is that production won’t be slowing down.
As mentioned, it was recently reported that Craig hurt his ankle while filming the upcoming “Bond 25.” At the time, not much was known, other than the fact that he was rushed from Jamaica to the US for further tests. Some reports said the production would be delayed. Others said that the injury was no big deal and he’d be back filming soon enough. Well, the truth lies somewhere in between.

The official “Bond 25” Twitter account cleared things up. The update says, “Daniel Craig will be undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained during filming in Jamaica. Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.”
While it may seem like the media has been reveling in the misfortune that has plagued Craig’s James Bond swansong film, the truth is that the scrutiny comes from the fact that “Bond 25” has so much hype, and almost just as much drama. It’s rare to find a film that has gone through this many directors, writers, delays, and casting rumors. Let alone a film in a franchise the size of ‘Bond.’
So, it appears that the drama seems to be coming to an end now, as the production deals with Craig’s absence and powers through so that it can hit that April release date. However, for those ‘Bond’ fanboys and fangirls out there, you might want to keep your fingers crossed that no other calamities strike. We’re not sure just how much more bad vibes “Bond 25” can sustain.
