The deal between the streaming giant Netflix and filmmaker Rian Johnson for the next two sequels to his fantastic whodunnit comedy “Knives Out” for a whopping $400+ million made headlines, as star Daniel Craig is attached to reprise the role of sleuth Benoit Blanc for the two untitled pics.
Production is reportedly set to begin later next month in the very scenic location of Greece, and Deadline has revealed one of the first new cast members for the sequel will be Craig’s “Spectre” co-star Dave Bautista, who played the Blofeld henchman Mr. Hinx in the follow-up to the massively successful “Skyfall.”
Joining this project is a huge win for Dave Bautista’s career after playing mostly action-focused roles and landing a part in a witty murder mystery could showcase the actor’s skills beyond looking intimidating. His comedic timing as Drax can be seen as underrated at times and showing up in “Knives Out 2” could allow him to continue to expand on his range given how the assemble cast in the first installment was able to bounce off each other during many dialog-driven sequences.
Bautista’s “Army of The Dead” will hit both theaters and Netflix this month. He’s recently teased that he’ll play Drax The Destroyer one last time in James Gunn‘s “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.3,” which will be released on May 5, 2023.
Craig’s final outing as James Bond, “No Time To Die,” is scheduled for release on October 8.

It’ll be interesting to see if Rian decides to add even more of Daniel Craig’s former Bond co-stars in subsequent roles as we’ll keep our fingers crossed they’ll consider adding folks like “Casino Royale” leading lady Eva Green and Blofeld’s Christoph Waltz given his experience with quippy characters written by Quentin Tarantino. Unfortunately, someone like Mads Mikkelsen might not be available given he’s set to shoot James Mangold‘s “Indiana Jones 5” this summer.
