Got a Tip?

David Bowie’s Cult Classic ‘Labyrinth’ Is Getting A Sequel

UpdateEW reports the movie will actually be a sequel.

While the easy response to this news would be to say that David Bowie is rolling over in his grave (actually, he was cremated, so that wouldn’t work), we all know the Great White Duke was never of this Earth, and is probably bringing his otherworldly cool to somewhere else in the cosmos (is it a coincidence that Planet 9 discovered after his death? THR reports the two companies are pairing up to reboot the 1986 cult classic “Labyrinth.” While it was a flop when it first released, the movie has become a favorite in the years since, but like any catalog title these days, it’s seen by executives as fair game for a redo. While there’s no word yet on what approach the story might take, perhaps it’s telling of the intentions that Nicole Perlman (“Guardians Of The Galaxy,” “Captain Marvel“) has been hired to pen the script.

So, until more word comes in on the project maybe give “Labyrinth” another spin, and perhaps check out our list of the 8 Essential Movie Performances Of David Bowie.
