Believe it or not, Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz have teamed together three separate times on film. And it appears they’re adding another with the forthcoming thriller, “Day Drinker.”

According to THR, Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz have signed on to star in “Day Drinker,” a new thriller from director Marc Webb. The film tells the story of a cruise ship bartender who finds herself teaming up with a mysterious day drinker and getting caught up in the criminal underbelly. It sounds a little silly, but it also has producers on it who have previously worked on “John Wick.” So perhaps, it’s a pretty solid little action film.
As mentioned, Cruz and Depp have previously teamed up on three films. They worked together on “Blow,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” and “Murder on the Orient Express.” It’s clear the duo enjoy working together.

“Day Drinker” is the next film from director Marc Webb. He’s probably best known for being the filmmaker behind the two ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ films. Since then, he’s worked on films such as “Gifted” and “The Only Living Boy in New York.” He is currently putting the finishing touches on his live-action “Snow White” film, which is scheduled to arrive next year.
There’s no expected release date yet for “Day Drinker.”
