'Deadly Class' Exclusive Music: Preview Three Tracks From The Score Of The Russo Brothers' Killer New Series

The premise for Syfy’s new original series “Deadly Class” is deceptively simple. A young man finds himself recruited to be part of an underground, secret school where students are trained to be the world’s greatest assassins. So, yeah, it’s like ‘Harry Potter’ but with lots of death, no spells, and, most definitely, a killer soundtrack.

Upon watching the beginning of “Deadly Class,” you’re immediately struck by the series’ setting. Distinctly positioned in the heart of the 1980s, the series has a style and flair that can only be replicated by music that feels era-appropriate, yet somehow very modern. That’s exactly what composer Nathan Matthew David has done with the score. And in honor of the series coming to Syfy next week, we’re proud to unveil three exclusive tracks from the “Deadly Class” score.

Based on the (incredible) comic book series from Rick Remender and Wesley Craig, “Deadly Class” is not your typical teen drama series. Considering each cast member is a ruthless killer, the Syfy show has an edge and brutality not seen in shows like “Riverdale.” Developed by the Russo Brothers (of “Avengers: Infinity War” fame), “Deadly Class” stars Lana Condor, Benjamin Wadsworth, Benedict Wong, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James, and Michel Duval.

“Deadly Class” is set to premiere on Syfy on January 16, at 10/9c.

Here’s the synopsis for the series, as well as the exclusive music:

Set in a dark, heightened world against the backdrop of late ‘80s counterculture, DEADLY CLASS follows the story of Marcus (Benjamin Wadsworth), a teen living on the streets who is recruited into Kings Dominion, an elite private academy where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques and his own adolescent uncertainties soon proves to be vital. Based on the best-selling 2014 Image Comics graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, DEADLY CLASS is a coming-of-age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst.
