'Deadpool 3': Morena Baccarin & Stefan Kapicic Confirmed To Return As Vanessa & Colossus For Upcoming Sequel

Last week, news broke that Morena Baccarin wasn’t sure she’d be returning for “Deadpool 3.” “I’d like to be in it,” Baccarin said on a recent episode of the “Inside Of You” podcast. “They have called me about being in it. Right now, we have not agreed on terms, and everybody’s trying their best, and doing their best. But it may or may not work out. I don’t know.” It turns thing things worked out: Deadline reports that Baccarin is back to reprise her role as Deadpool’s fiancé Vanessa.  Stefan Kapicic also returns, reprising his role as the mutant Colossus.

Baccarin and Kapicic join Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams (who play Dopinder and Blind Al, respectively) as characters returning from the first two “Deadpool” films. Of course, Ryan Reynolds is back as The Merc With The Mouth, too.  Hugh Jackman leads newcomers as Wolverine, with Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen also on board in undisclosed roles.

So is the entire gang back together? Not quite. No word yet if Brianna Hildebrand will return as Negasonic Teenage Warhead. And it’d be a shame if she doesn’t, as Hildebrand’s snarky performance is a highlight of the first two films. There’s also no word if Zazie Beetz shows up for a Domino cameo, or if Shioli Kutsuna will return as Yukio, Warhead’s girlfriend.

Shawn Levy directs “Deadpool 3,” while Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese return to pen the script with Zeb WellsWendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin worked on a previous draft. “Deadpool 3” marks Wade Wilson’s (and Wolverine’s) entrance into the MCU, and with that, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige joins Reynolds and Levy as a producer on the film.

Baccarin and Kapicic’s returns mean most of the Old Guard of the “Deadpool” films is back for the third movie. But there’s a Negasonic Teenage Warhead-sized hole in this cast list. Let’s hope it gets filled soon.
