Daisy Ridley has made some interesting career choices after her run of “Star Wars” films ended in 2019. Since then, she’s appeared in several unique dramas and thrillers. And it appears she’s going to be a full-on action star with her next film, titled “Dedication.”
According to Variety, Daisy Ridley is reteaming with filmmaker Martin Campbell on the upcoming action-thriller, “Dedication.” The film tells the story of a young Marine Corps. Commander who is relieved of her duty after a messy situation overseas. However, when she is asked to attend a dedication by her Marine father, she finds herself taking on a group of terrorists who take over the event. Honestly, it sounds like “Die Hard” but with Daisy Ridley. Not a bad thing at all.
As mentioned, Ridley has made some interesting choices since “Star Wars.” She has appeared in films such as “Sometimes I Think About Dying,” “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” “Young Woman and the Sea,” and “Magpie.” She also has wrapped a couple of other films, “We Bury the Dead” and “Cleaner.” It’s that last film where she first teamed up with Campbell.
As for the filmmaker, other than his work on the upcoming “Cleaner,” he’s probably best known as the director of “Casino Royale.” He also directed films such as “Edge of Darkness,” “The Foreigner,” “The Protégé,” and this year’s “Dirty Angels.”

It’s unclear when we might see production begin on “Dedication.” Ridley has a fairly busy schedule ahead of her, as she is expected to return to the world of “Star Wars” in the future. Though, rumors are pointing to that film being delayed. So, you have to imagine “Dedication” will begin production before then.
