It may be a toss-up just exactly how many fans are on board for the upcoming “Dexter” prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin.” However, one person who’s most definitely excited is original star Michael C. Hall, as he expressed recently in an interview with EW.
“The scripts they’ve executed are fantastic…I can’t wait, like as a fan, to watch it, and as an actor, to spend time seeing real footage of things that I’ve sort of tried to imagine for myself when I imagine what Dexter’s early days [were like], now I’m going to have this technicolor version of his memories to refer to. And I think it will help inform my experience of whatever comes next in the other series.”

Fans may rejoice as Michael C. Hall will lend his voice to the show as the narrator or “the inner voice of Dexter.” Patrick Gibson (“Shadow and Bone”) will star as the 20-year-old version of TV’s favorite serial killer.
Additional cast members include Christian Slater as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, Molly Brown as Dexter’s little sister, Deb, Christina Milian as Maria LaGuerta, and James Martinez as Angel Batista. The series also stars Alex Shimizu, Patrick Dempsey, Reno Wilson, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Clyde Phillips, who helmed the original series’ much-lauded first four seasons, will return as a writer and producer.
The show is set in 1991, Miami, where a young Dexter is first beginning to discover and implement his serial killing ways with the help of his father, Harry. All while leading a double life as an intern with the Miami Metro Police Department.
