‘Divorce In The Black’ Trailer: Megan Good Stars In Tyler Perry’s New Prime Drama

Tyler Perry’s cottage industry of films obviously includes the comedic “Madea” films, but as he’s suggested in recent years, that’s not all he’s made of, and he wants to be known for much more. Perhaps that trend started with Netflix’s A Jazzman’s Blues” in 2022 and continues in a more serious vein with his latest film, “Tyler Perry’s Divorce In The Black.”

With “Divorce in the Black” Perry seems to be going for an empowering message of personal growth and transformation. Divorce is not an ending, Perry seems to say, but it can be a catalyst for positive change and reclaiming your life.

The film also showcases the importance of self-love and having a support system and community during a tough breakup, in addition to highlighting the journey of rediscovery.

“Divorce In The Black” stars Megan Good (“Harlem,” “The Intruder”) as a young bank professional who is devastated when her husband abandons their marriage. Cory Hardrict co-stars in a tale of destiny, fate intervening, and connecting with a soulmate.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Ava, a young bank professional, is devastated when her husband Dallas abandons a marriage she is determined to fight for until fate intervenes, revealing Dallas’ wicked deeds that have trashed their marriage and, once upon a time, sabotaged Ava’s destiny to loved by her true soulmate.

In addition to leads Meagan Good and Cory Hardrict, the impressive ensemble cast also includes Joseph Lee Anderson, Shannon Wallace, and Taylor Polidore, with Richard Lawson and Debbi Morgan.
