'Don't Breathe 2' Red Band Trailer: Stephen Lang Murders The Hell Out Of People In The New Thriller

There’s been a lot of discussion about the upcoming “Don’t Breathe 2.” Not only is it the sequel to the surprising horror/thriller about thieves who unexpectedly find themselves robbing a blind man that is really just a heartless murderer, but the new installment in the franchise flips the script and makes that heartless murderer the hero. But as the new “Dark AF” red band trailer for “Don’t Breathe 2” is any indication, it definitely could be difficult to root for the hero of the film.

If you haven’t seen the original “Don’t Breathe,” you likely won’t understand what all the confusion/controversy is with the sequel. It kinda just looks the same, as it features another set of unlikely assholes that stumble into a home of a blind man that is going to ruthlessly hunt them down. But when you add the ending of “Don’t Breathe” into the equation, where you find out the motivations of the blind man and his real crimes, it makes rooting for the guy in the sequel very, uh, problematic. That said, he does know how to kill people in exciting ways.

The cast for “Don’t Breathe 2” finds Stephen Lang returning in the lead role. This time he’s joined by Brendan Sexton III and Madelyn Grace, among others. And while Fede Alvarez isn’t returning as the director, the filmmaker did co-write the sequel alongside Rodo Sayagues, who has also taken the helm with directing duties.
