Smart and scathing, unpredictable and hilarious, you never quite know where you're going with Todd Solodnz, but the journey and experience is usually one you'll never forget. It's been a few years since "Life During Wartime," the director's quasi-sequel to "Happiness," and he's once again shifted gears, returning with another oddball treat. His latest is a broader sort of comedy than we're used to from the helmer, but one that retains his signature touch.
Led by Jordan Gelber with Selma Blair, Christopher Walken, Mia Farrow, Justin Bartha and Aasif Mandvi among the supporting cast, "Dark Horse" tells the story of a thirty-something man still living with his parents, who falls in love with a similarly adrift young woman and purses a relationship, hoping to shed this image as — you guessed it — the dark horse of the family. In this exclusive clip, Abe (Gelber) shows off his bedroom — which reflects somewhat his arrested development — in an effort to try and impress Miranda (Blair). It gives a pretty good taste of the tone Solondz is bringing to the picture.
"Dark Horse" opens on Friday, June 8th in limited release. Watch below.
