Back in April, The Wrap wrote a report about the upcoming film “Red One.” In the report, it was theorized that the reason the budget for the film went to astronomical heights is because of Dwayne Johnson’s tardiness on set. The report stated that he would delay production all the time by just being extremely late. Well, to that, Johnson is now saying, “Bullshit.”
According to a new interview with GQ, Dwayne Johnson took exception to the report from The Wrap that stated that him being late to set somehow caused all these problems during the production of his new Christmas action film, “Red One.” He called the report “bullshit” and went on to admit that he was sometimes late to set, but it was never an issue.

“Yeah, that happens,” Johnson admitted. “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”
There were also a part of the report that claimed Johnson would urinate in water bottles to save himself the time it would take to go to the restroom. Again, Johnson admitted it, but also took issue with the idea that the report never attempted to talk to him.
“Yeah. That happens,” said the actor. “I’ve said a thousand times: ‘Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth.’”
As for someone coming to Johnson’s defense, we have Jake Kasdan, the director of “Red One.” He not only backed up Johnson’s view of the tardiness issue but went on to explain how great he was to everyone who worked on the film.
“[Dwayne] never missed a day of work ever,” Kasdan said. “He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood — that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”
At this point, you kinda just have to believe Johnson and the folks who worked with him. He admitted that he was occasionally late to set, but that it wasn’t a really big deal. This was corroborated by the director.
Now, will “Red One” be a massive hit? And will it make a profit? Those are questions we still don’t have an answer for. “Red One” arrives in theaters on November 15.
