Just recently, it was revealed that HBO is likely not looking at a second season of the acclaimed TV drama, “Mare of Easttown.” That said, the folks at the network alluded to a new project from creator Brad Ingelsby that would have him sticking around HBO. However, apparently, before we get to that future series, it appears Apple has nabbed Ingelsby to write a new thriller, “Echo Valley,” which is going to have a pretty star-studded cast.
According to Variety, Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney are attached to star in the upcoming film, “Echo Valley,” which is written by “Mare of Easttown” creator, Brad Ingelsby. The film tells the story of a woman (Moore), who lives a quiet life training horses on her farm. However, her life is turned upside down when her daughter (Sweeney) arrives frantic on her doorstep covered in someone else’s blood. “Echo Valley” is set to be directed by Michael Pearce, who is probably best known for the films “Beast” and “Encounter.”
As mentioned, Ingelsby is probably best known for his work on “Mare of Easttown,” but prior to that, he wrote a number of high-profile films, including “The Way Back,” “Out of the Furnace,” and “Run All Night.”

Julianne Moore is no stranger to huge projects, and she’s recently worked with Apple on the TV series, “Lisey’s Story.” Sweeney, on the other hand, is a relatively new star, most known for her work on the HBO series, “Euphoria.” However, she has taken that popularity and turned it into a variety of TV series and films that will be showing up over the next couple of years.
A release date for “Echo Valley” has yet to be announced, but with production starting this summer, you can probably expect the thriller to arrive sometime in mid-2024.
