'Emergency Declaration' Trailer: Han-Jae-Rim's Plane Thriller Starring 'Parasite' Star Song-Kang-Ho

Flying a plane is no easy task, and when dealt with an unfortunate hand in life, the captain and crew must take it upon themselves to do whatever they can to save as many lives as possible. Just like in Han-Jae-Rim’s upcoming movie “Emergency Declaration” starring “Parasite” actor Song Kang-ho and “Squid Game” actor Lee Byung-hun.

“Emergency Declaration” will focus on the Korean Authorities’ attempt to capture a suspect from a recent terrorist threat that went viral online. However, when word gets out that the suspect is traveling to the United States and fuel is decreasing, the captain and crew will be forced to take unprecedented emergency measures to keep the lives of their passengers safe. 

Han-Jae-Rim is best known for his directorial role in the movie “King,” released in 2017. Han-Jae-Rim graduated from Seoul Institute of the Arts in 1998 and began his career as an assistant director and script editor, skipping to 2005, when he released his first movie, “Rules of Dating.”

“Emergency Declaration” will star Song Kang-ho, Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Do-yeon (“The Housemaid”), Kim Nam-gil (“Those Who Read the Hearts of Evil”), Kim So-jin (“The King”), and, Im Si-wan (“Run On”).

Here’s the official synopsis: 

While investigating a terroristic threat that goes viral online, Korean authorities discover that a suspect has recently boarded an international flight bound for the United States. When a healthy passenger on the same flight suddenly dies a gruesome death of unknown cause, panic erupts both in-flight and on the ground. With steadily decreasing fuel and international refusals to offer aid, the captain and crew will be forced to take unprecedented emergency measures in an attempt to save the lives of their passengers.

“Emergency Declaration” will premiere in theaters on August 12, 2022. Watch the new trailer below.
