While Pixar seems to get a lot of the press when it comes to animated films under the Disney umbrella, we have to remember that the studio itself is responsible for some of the most iconic animation to ever grace the screen. And that is hopefully going to continue with the upcoming film, “Encanto.”

As seen in the trailer for “Encanto,” the film tells the story of a magical family, the Madrigals, and their magical home. Each member of the Madrigal family is bestowed with a gift that allows them to do supernatural things. All except for the young Mirabel, who seemingly doesn’t have a magical superpower. However, when their home is threatened, Mirabel is the only member of the family that can save them.
The ensemble voice cast for the film includes Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero, John Leguizamo, Angie Cepeda, Wilmer Valderrama, Diane Guererro, Jessica Darrow, Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, and Ravi Cabot-Conyers. Since it’s a Disney animated film, you know there is going to be music, as well. And for “Encanto,” the new songs are written by none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda. The film is directed by Byron Howard (“Zootopia,” “Tangled”) and Jared Bush (co-director “Zootopia”), co-directed by Charise Castro Smith (writer “The Death of Eva Sofia Valdez”).
“Encanto” arrives in theaters on November 24. You can watch the trailer below.
